A well-finished concrete floor is low maintenance, not no maintenance. A few habits will keep overlays, polished floors, stained slabs, and epoxy looking their best through Houston's hot, humid summers and wet winters.
Everyday care
- Dust-mop or sweep to remove grit.
- Mop with a pH-neutral cleaner and clean water.
- Use mats at entries to catch sand and dirt.
- Put felt pads under furniture.
Indoors vs. outdoors
Indoor floors mostly need regular cleaning. Outdoor patios, pool decks, and driveways face sun, rain, and mildew. Rinse them periodically and keep drains clear. If you're considering a refresh for an outdoor slab, see our exterior concrete overlay work.

Sealer and when to refresh it
The sealer protects color and shine. High-traffic floors and outdoor slabs usually need attention sooner than quiet interior rooms. If water no longer beads on the surface or the shine has dulled, it's likely time. Our stain and seal team can advise.
What to avoid
- Acidic or harsh chemical cleaners.
- Dragging heavy, sharp-edged items across the floor.
- Letting spills sit on the surface.
- Skipping the follow-up care your installer recommends.
A check-in after your install
We return about ten days after finishing a job to confirm the floor is performing. If you have questions later, we're glad to hear from you. See what customers say on our reviews page.
